Bill Muehlenberg's commentary on issues of the day...

The Australian Sodomy Party

Jul 27, 2015

While the Australian Greens probably already own the title of being the sodomy party, the recent Federal Labor Party conference established Labor as worthy recipients of this [dis]honour as well. Instead of dealing with vital concerns like health and education and national defence, the Labor Party spend a huge amount of time on sodomite marriage.

This tells us all we need to know about their priorities. And their morality, or lack thereof. This is the party which thinks that two per cent of the population should be allowed to destroy the institution of marriage, and they think they are somehow the party of the working class. Go figure.

labor 3Of course the Labor Party has been heading down the tubes for decades now. Recall the powerful words of Kim Beazley Sr at the WA Labor Party state conference in 1970, in which he blasted his comrades for their politically correct madness:

“When I joined the Labor Party, it contained the cream of the working class. But as I look about me now all I see are the dregs of the middle class. And what I want to know is when you middle class perverts are going to stop using the Labor Party as a spiritual spitoon.”

Sadly his words went unheeded, and today the Labor Party is all but devoid of its roots, and has sold its soul to the sodomites and other radical minority groups. In the process of course it has abandoned ordinary Australians in the millions.

Here is what transpired at the conference on Sunday:

An extraordinary compromise will see Labor MPs allowed to make up their own minds on same sex marriage for roughly four years but then be compelled to support it. The ALP national conference today accepted a resolution that federal MPs could have a conscience vote on marriage equality in this current term of Parliament and the next.
This could be triggered by Prime Minister Tony Abbott bringing on a cross-party private members’ bill to change the Marriage Act. However, if no bill is brought forward in this term or the one after, Labor MPs would lose their free vote and be bound to support legislation presented to the Parliament, following the federal election scheduled for late 2019.
However, it is likely there will be a vote on same-sex legislation in the next four years and Mr Shorten wants it brought on before the election scheduled for late next year. If not, he will introduce his own legislation within 100 days of winning government.
The compromise essentially ensures that if same sex marriage laws were passed Bill Shorten would be able to claim some of the credit. Marriage equality campaigners believe a free vote for both Coalition and Labor MPs would strengthen the chances of marriage equality changes being accepted.
In a twist, Left faction MPs, many of whom want a bound vote supporting marriage equality in Parliament, were told today they were bound to back the conscience vote provision at the conference. The Labor conference also agreed to a gender equity proposal endorsed by Mr Shorten for affirmative action producing 50/50 representation in Parliament by 2025.

And if all that was not enough of a slap in the face to Australian families and children, consider this perverse policy:

Labor has promised to give gay, transgender and intersex parents the same rights as heterosexual couples to access IVF, adopt children and enter surrogacy arrangements. Former federal senator Louise Pratt, whose partner is a transgender man, moved two successful motions to commit a federal Labor government to seeking national agreement on these matters. The party will also seek to make sure gay, transgender and intersex couples get equal recognition in any inter-country adoption agreements Australia is part of.

There is just so much wrong here – where do I begin? And there is just so much crude politics being played out here. Let me just highlight one aspect of this charade. All this baloney about a conscience vote is beyond a joke. While Deputy Opposition Leader Tanya Plibersek was chirping on about how wonderful this is, recall that just a few weeks ago she was demanding that everyone support sodomite marriage or leave the party.

And Labor never allows a conscience vote, but demands loyalty to cabinet decisions. It has only allowed a conscience vote of late on abortion, or matters closely aligned to it. This is a party that does not want diversity of thought, but insists on conformity.

And this is just pure politics: all they really want by pulling this stunt is to put pressure on Tony Abbott to allow a conscience vote on this issue for his own party. Why? Simple: there would be a few more renegades on this issue within the Coalition who would vote for it than there are in Labor who would vote against it. So it is all about getting the numbers.

The only encouraging thing to come out of this whole miserable conference of immoral and perverted pollies was one man who stood strong – or in this case, who sat while others stood to applaud debauchery and the war on marriage. I refer to one of the few remaining champions within Labor, Joe de Bruyn.

Not only is he the head of the largest trade union, the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association, but he is a devout Catholic and a long-standing champion of marriage and family. He is one of the few to remain firm while his Labor mates turn to depravity and minority group appeasement.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this photo from the conference is worth a million. Joe is a superstar among moral pygmies. It may well be time that he and any other party figures who still have some moral and mental clarity exit this party of perversion and political correctness.

de bruyn 1In my books Psalm 1:1 well describes this champion:

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers.

And Isaiah 5:20 well describes this miserable excuse for a political party: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

One could say more about this party and the idiotic things said about their support of the destruction of marriage. For example, shadow transport minister Albanese, actually said this: “People love who they love. We should respect that. It will, in my view, strengthen the institution of marriage when more people are able to participate in it.”

Oh really? Hey, I know plenty of men who “love” children. Will they get special treatment from Labor as well? I know there is a huge push on for “loving” threesomes – called throuples. When will Labor stop discriminating against them?

There are people calling for the “love” between human and animals to be recognised and legalised. So Labor, when will ‘love win’ for those folks? And if a father is in “love” with his daughter, surely Labor will want to see ‘marriage equality’ extended to these guys as well.

The mind-boggling mental meltdown of the Labor Party seems only to be matched by its moral meltdown. Here is a party in moral and mental freefall, yet they stand and applaud in celebration of immorality and their disgusting attack on the most fundamental of all human institutions – marriage and family.

Given official Labor policy on these matters, let me throw this out to you: if you claim to be a biblical Christian and still support this party, well, you have told me all I need to know about your faith. It is not my faith, nor the faith of Scripture.

“Choose this day whom you will serve” (Joshua 24:15).

  • Well said Bill.
The Australian Christian Lobby has also put out a statement about what this means and the new era of intolerance that it brings.

  • That photo does speak a thousand words and will be a scene repeated everywhere as time goes on.

  • Sounds like our democrats Bill, the self proclaimed party of so called “tolerance” as long as you go by their party line that is!

  • Now I know what Lot felt like in Biblical times. Joe de Bruyn’s face says it all in this classic photo. Like Lot he should leave and not turn back.

  • I’m never going to vote Labor again.

  • I strongly suspect that the real political winners from the gradual “mainstreaming” of same-sex marriage, will be the Australian Greens: They alone are already unanimous in support for the entire raft of GLBTIQ policy agenda – the other, larger “traditional” parties appear to have very real problems with maintaining party-wide consensus on the gay marriage issue.

Am I alone in assuming that the present “left” and “wet” factions of the ALP and the coalition parties are on the verge of being outflanked by their real de facto political opposition, the Greens?

  • God loves the world so much and he is showing mankind the way to the kingdom of heaven through the Messiah – Jesus Christ but today mankind chose destruction and death. The Day of the Lord will come and there will be no excuse for the hardened heart. The Bible says that in the past Yahweh the Lord God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, reducing them to ash as a lesson of what He will do with the wicked and ungodly and in the days to come when Christ returns to judge the living and the dead. Today we don’t see much fire, brimstone or sulphur coming out of the sky, but the Lake of Fire is prepared for those who love sin and deliberately chose immorality and lawlessness and rejected the Lord Jesus, God’s love and mercy and his warning of the judgement to come.

Beloved readers, if you love sin and deliberately defy God and mocking him, for the love of God, I ask you to repent of your sins, choose Christ and choose life instead of eternal death in the age to come and you will live eternally with him in heaven otherwise you will eternally regret dying and going into Christless eternity without God without hope.

The Lord Jesus gave the apostle John a revelation regarding the final judgement to warn the whole world, “I saw a great white throne, and One was seated upon it. The earth and heaven receded from His presence; there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing in front of the throne. Some books were opened. Then another book was opened; it was called the book of life. And the dead were judged according to what had been recorded in the first books; these were the records of everything they had done. And the sea surrendered its dead. Death and Hades gave up their dead as well. And all were judged according to their works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And everyone whose name could not be found among the names written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”

  • Thank you Bill for this article. I would remind people that it was the liberal party in WA who legalised Abortion, Richard Courts government. I was in the gallery praying when the votes came down.
Please use common sense and carefully vote independent. Neither of the 2 parties deserve a single vote. A hung parliament at the next election is the best way to make sure this horrid legislation is not passed. IMO

  • Wow, that is what I call a hero, Joe de Bruyn does deserve our highest accolades for being such a brave man.
Does it really boil down to this that only one individual in the whole of that party stands up (rather sits down) to demonstrate his stand against sodomy? The slipper slope is steeper now then ever.

  • That’s a wonderful photo….one person against many, standing/sitting for what is right. He looks like a man deep in thoughts. How many of us have been in similar situations? It is very nerve-wracking to see all your colleagues/friends/whatever taking the opposite view and there can be a massive feeling of human isolation that grabs the heart at such a time. I don’t know anything about your politics; but surely there must have been a few others in that party who felt uneasy about what was proposed?

  • Greetings in the name of Lord Jesus Christ, Minister Bill, God has been speaking to me about His Heavenly Household. Suffering as a Christian will be required, we all must continue to shine in these days, may God grant you strength to endure. 1Peter 4:12-19. BRETHREN KEEP FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH! Brethren this is why the House of God has been judged, the Royal Commission into SEXUAL ABUSE is a real awakening to all Christianity! If one is false toward God, God will judge even those secret sins. Let God arise and his enemies be scattered. Minister Bill press on my brother.
    1Peter 4:12-19
12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that is taking place among you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice insofar as you are sharing Christ’s sufferings, so that you may also be glad and shout for joy when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory, which is the Spirit of God, is resting on you. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, a criminal, or even as a mischief maker. 16 Yet if any of you suffers as a Christian, do not consider it a disgrace, but glorify God because you bear this name. 17 For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God; if it begins with us, what will be the end for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And

“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinners?”
19 Therefore, let those suffering in accordance with God’s will entrust themselves to a faithful Creator, while continuing to do good.

  • If the majority of the public support SSM, as its proponents claim, then why not test that claim with a national plebiscite on the issue?
Of course that won’t happen, because those who are agitating for “marriage equality” know that the result will be the opposite of what they claim, and they will be exposed for the liars they are.

  • Yes quite right Philip.

  • What can you expect form a party whose leaders are adulterers. Hawke, Gillard and what about Shorten? If you believe the rumour mills, so it he. The ALP is lead by academic, atheistic moral relativists. Which is why whenever they form government, it relies on lies, shady deals and deception to survive. Joe de Bruyn should do what some of us did long ago – turn your back on the ALP for good.

  • The decision taken by the ALP at its conference regarding SSM gives Tony Abbott the opportunity to take the initiative on this issue. There can be no vote in the present Parliament without the support of the Government. Mr Abbott has now hinted that there will be a referendum of sorts on the issue in the next term of the Parliament. I am sure that the a majority of Australians will vote “no”. In the meantime we can focus on other issues. But keep praying for Tony Abbott and his conservative colleagues.

  • Great article Bill, now people can see why I resigned from the Labor Party several years ago when they Voted to make same gender marriage a Party Platform at the same Labor Party Conference in Brisbane. When it was announced the Party Platform at 3pm I immediately sat down and wrote my letter of resignation and had it in the Post the same Afternoon.

I still have not changed my mind on this Issue nor will I and I won’t definitely be voting for any Labor candidate in the Near Future or at any Time despite having grown up in a strong Labor Household. As far as I am concerned Labor and their Supporters can go to Hell, but they will not be taking me with them.

    Leigh D Stebbins

  • Great quote from Beazley Snr & powerful words Bill. Saying it as it is…..Thank you.

  • Every Christian, and every religious person for that matter should never again vote labor or the greens. They should be preferenced last. What an abomination they are.

  • I also note with much sadness that this party conference was held on the Lord’s Day, a clear indication of a willingness to reject God’s commandments in other areas also.

  • Well written Bill. Once again you have put our thoughts and feelings into words. I hope you share with Andrew Bolt.

  • As a member of fhe Liberal Party and thus on the conservative side I note with great alarm and sadness that it was small ‘c’ Conservative David Cameron in UK and small ‘n’ National party in NZ who introduced Sodom Marriage in their countries. I am in the Liberal Party with many other grassroots members to remind our party we do not want to follow that path.

  • How this works out in practice is that the very same laws that were written in the mists of time when Christian values and morality were protected from offensive, threatening, insulting, distressing and disorderly behaviour, are -without any change of wording – being turned back, like an Exocet missile to attack Christians. What was offensive, threatening, obscene and downright wicked is seen to be morally good and was morally good is now seen to be evil. Why bother write new laws protecting the public when one can simply use the same ones to protect the criminals, perverts, the insane and the demonic .

  • “There are people calling for the “love” between human and animals to be recognised and legalised”

In the US some people were asking a judge to give some chimps “human rights” so that they could be protected from some sort of experimentation or something. So I asked a pro homosexual marriage group if they would marry said chimp to a person given that they both would have “human rights”.

Some people got offended by the question.

  • Listen up Aussies. Labour MP Andrew Leigh is advocating getting rid of democracy completely. He speaks disparagingly of the binary between “binding” and “conscience” votes. In other words he advocates a totalitarian Hegelian state in which there is no antithesis of good and bad, up or down, left or right.
When this useful idiot looks longingly towards Britain as a model of progress and enlightenment, he ignores the state of Britain’s children, the unborn child and the elderly. I suppose like any Leninist he would say “If you want to make an omelette, You must be willing to break a few eggs,” or as Robespierre said, “Omelettes are not made without breaking eggs.”

  • Joe de Bruyn may well pay a heavy price for his stance, but not that of the Romanian, pastor Richard Wurmbrand who had been placed in a similar position in 1945 at a Congress of Cults, when all the church leaders stood in standing ovation to a string of blasphemous, atheists speeches. He was the only one to stand and speak against this and he paid dearly for it.

  • de Bruyn obviously has one of those moral traits that is exceedingly rare – courage.

  • Hope that this commentary of Bill Muehlenberg will challenge the faith of those who would stand with God in the midst of perverse crowd.

  • Speaking at an AWU event in 2003, former Labor Prime Minister Gough Whitlam claimed that “Joe de Bruyn is a Dutchman who hates dykes.”

    What an idiot.

  • You only have to look at the record of sex offences over the years and see that most of them have come out of the sodomite, I mean Labor party. A no-brainer.
They are finished as a respected party in this blessed democratic country called Australia.
I am ashamed that they are named in our country in our politics. They need the NO VOTE from EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY TO CONFIRM THEM AS THE SOUL STEALERS THEY WANT TO BE….BUT GOD.

  • #Christine Dee.
I’d be becareful who you call sodomites Christine, the gay lobby is pretty powerful in the Vatican and Francis’s claim of who is he to judge is still on record.
